Mr Buckeridge was most famous for his Jennings series, enjoyed by schoolboys from 1950, when the first book, Jennings Goes To School, was published, all the way to 1991, when That's Jennings became the final chapter in a series spanning 41 years.
Mr Buckeridge died in 2004. His son, a former pupil, and daughter, were able to come along to the day and unveil a new plaque commemorating their father's time at the school.
