John Walker, Chairman of The Ramsgate Society and Deputy Chairman of Civic Voice of which The Ramsgate Society was a founder member, pictured with Griff Rhys Jones President of Civic Voice and Charles Campion of architects and planners John Thompson and Partners at the launch of a 3 day community planning event focused on Paddington Place next to Paddington Station in London.

The event was a response to a design competition organised by Creative Streets to find a street friendly development brief for the site and is an example of the "Charette" approach to community engagement in planning which civic societies like The Ramsgate Society advocated for the future.
